Native New Yorker Dominique Farina’s love for makeup was already evident in middle school, when her former Makeup Artist mother gave her the renowned artist Kevyn Aucoin “Making faces’ book. Dominique studied & practiced Keyvn’s techniques flawlessly on friends and family through out her younger years. After finishing high-school, Dominique continued her education studying fashion while also taking cosmetology and makeup classes to strengthen her techniques. Having her heart set on fulfilling her dream of becoming a Make-up Artist, Dominique began work in the competitive New York City fashion industry at the age of 19.
After only a short time of working in NYC, Dominique was asked to be, and years later is still, a part of DickPages fashion week team. Dominique also has the honor of being a part of other major artists fashion week teams such as, Lucia Pieroni, Mark Carrasquillo & Jodie Boland. After finishing her 2 year apprenticeship under Jodie Boland, Dominique became first assistant on the Zimmermann NYFW show, and also received the opportunity to build relationships with clients such as Calvin Klien. Dominique has worked on Victoria Secret models, Shanina Shaik, Erin Heatherton, Stella Maxwell, Kendall Jenner & Rachel Hilbert.
Dominique worked with Calvin Klien’s web team, keyed makeup for a Michael Kors store events, traveled with American Eagles Aerie team for their campaigns, and regularly has the opportunity to work with one of the fastest growing online magazines, Refinery 29. Dominique’s celebrity clients include Yoko Ono Lennon, Jenny Lewis, Zoe Kazan & Hannah Bronfman. In Dominique’s free time, she enjoys taking makeup classes to learn new tricks and to stay fresh with perpetually-changing beauty trends. When Dominique finds some time outside of makeup, you can find her teaching yoga or escaping the bustling city life via an outdoor adventure to the beach or mountains.
